What a cable can handle — and what it can’t
A cable is the most common method, but not for every case. We tell you in advance where it will work and where another method is needed.

When to call at night instead of waiting for morning
Water is rising and about to overflow, or already leaking to the neighbours below — call right away. We arrive within an hour, at night too. We’ll name the price on the phone straight away.
Before the technician arrives: don’t run water and don’t try a household cable — it easily pushes the plug further down, where it’s harder to get out.

Rules
The price depends only on the work, not on your home. On site the price changes only by a line of this table, and only before work starts.
Included: inspection, cable cleaning, removing and refitting the trap if needed, flushing with water and checking the drains.
Not included: replacing the trap, the flexible pipe or a pipe section — that’s a separate job; we’ll name the price before starting.
On site we need electricity and water — for the cable machine and to test the drain.

How cable cleaning works

How a household cable differs from ours
People often call us after trying it themselves. Here’s why a household cable often doesn’t cope.
Household hand cable
- Usually 3–5 metres
- Turned by hand — force is lost on bends
- Reaches the trap and the first bend
- Further on it often pushes the plug deeper — where it’s harder to get out

Frequently asked
How much does cable drain cleaning cost in Tbilisi?
It depends on where the blockage is: sink, kitchen sink or bath — 200 ₾, toilet — 250 ₾, shared riser — 350 ₾. That’s the price for a standard case; we name it on the phone before coming out. Evenings (18–22) +25%, nights (22–9) +50%, weekends the same as weekdays. If we can’t tell on the phone what’s wrong with the pipe, a call-out with inspection is 70 ₾, credited towards the work.
Why are you more expensive than “from 50 ₾” in ads?
“From 50 ₾” is the price of the simplest case, and on site they add the cable, the difficulty and the night. We name the price of the whole job before coming out, and it doesn’t change once work starts.
Won’t the cable damage the pipes?
No, if the cable suits the pipe. For plastic we use a thin cable, for old cast iron a thicker one. A household cable damages pipes more often: it gets forced where it needs to turn.
How long does the cleaning take?
Usually 15–30 minutes. Longer if the plug is far away or there are many bends on the way.
Why is an electric cable better than a hand one?
A hand cable is a few metres and the strength of your arm: it takes a plug in the trap, but further on it often just pushes it deeper. An electric cable is longer, turns with constant force and gets round bends — all the way to the shared riser.
Why did the blockage come back after the cable?
Most often the cable punched a passage through the plug, but the pipe walls stayed greasy — and the plug builds up again. Then hydro jetting is needed: it washes off deposits along the whole length. If the blockage returns even after that, we look inside with a camera.
Does anything need to be taken apart?
Usually not: we feed the cable through the trap, the toilet or a cleanout. Sometimes we remove the trap under the sink and refit it — that’s part of the job. We open walls or floors only with your consent.
